No Boobies, Less Problems.

My name is Johnetta Goolsby, I am 27 years old and I have a five almost 6 year old!

From February 1, 2014 until September 11, 2015, I was having the time of my life (or what I thought). I was in an amazing relationship, I had just had my baby! We were looking to move in together! But then, I got my results!

How did you learn about your diagnoses?

I went in on a Monday, my doctors assumed because

I had just had a baby, I breast fed for a month, they assumed it was a milk duct infection. I went back that Thursday because I was still hurting and I still felt the lump. I had an ultrasound, and IMMEDIATELY rushed to a biopsy and mammogram. My whole left breast was full of DCIS cancer! I went on October 2nd for my surgery (Double Mastectomy) and on October 5th I was diagnosed with stage 3 with invasion! When they told me I would have to go through Chemo...Radiation...and a few more surgeries, doctor appointments for the rest of my life, medicines for the rest of my life, the possibility of not having anymore biological children...the effect this is gonna have on my daughter! Most importantly will I survive to see the rest of my life!

What type of treatment  did you receive?

-Chemotherapy: (Red-Devil (Adriamycin and Cytoxan and taxol)

-Immune system shot: the day after each chemo treatment

-Radiation: 31 Daily treatments

-Tamoxifen: Daily pill for 5 years

How is life now as a breast cancer survivor? -Life NEVER ceases to amaze me! It is never boring! Lol

What has breast cancer taught you about yourself?  That I can do whatever I put my mind to! I decided not to let situations and circumstances run my life, because I RUN THIS!

Advice or words of encouragement you would like to share with the breast cancer community.

Whatever the situation may be... whether it’s a reoccurrence, first diagnoses, or caregiver...YOU BECOME FIGHTERS, WARRIORS, and SURVIVORS, MENTALLY FIRST! Keep your head up and DON’T GIVE UP!!!

I am so excited to be a part of the @pinktreasures98 story! Thank you so much for the opportunity!
